
Kiran Ahmed is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Omar Welfare Association (OWA), a
non-profit organization dedicated to serving communities in need. Under her leadership, OWA
provides critical support, including immigration legal services, shelter referrals, educational
programs on women health, and connections to local organizations for rental assistance.
Additionally, OWA plays a vital role in aiding victims of domestic violence by offering essential
social services.
Before establishing OWA, Kiran served as State Counsel for the Federal Board of Revenue and
practiced law as an Advocate of the High Court in Pakistan for nine years, specializing in
banking and criminal law. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Karachi
and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in U.S. Legal Studies from Pace University, New York.
Kiran’s unwavering commitment lies in advocating for low-income and indigent families,
ensuring they receive the legal and social support and resources necessary to navigate complex
challenges and secure their rights.
